Tragedy Strikes The Mustang Rescue Ranch
While gone on a rescue, our home was burned down. We believe it was someone we turned in for abuse. The outside is all cinder block, so that is all that was left. We lost everything, except our lives and our animals. So we have much to be grateful for. The mortgage company got the insurance money. Now, though, we must reach out to the rest of the world for help. With still over 30 horses, we need a lot of things to get this new ranch up and going. Thank God we were smart enough to buy some mountain land when we did. If you want or know someone who wants to help, here is a wish list to get the new ranch going. Right now we are trying to run this ranch on only my husbands retirement, and that can't go on for ever, there just isn't enough of it to go around. Even if you just want to buy from our craft page, every penny helps. Here is our list in order of importance to us. Every donation we get at abusedhorses.org goes
towards our horses and our ranch.
Wish List
1. A 15 to 20k generator: So we have power for the well and the house.
2. Solar Panels: So we can stop spending over $200 a week for our little gas generator.
3. L45 6 v batteries: So we can store the power from the generator and or solar panels.
4. A Backhoe: It doesn't have to be new, but ours went up in flames and we need it for many things around here like making a fire brake putting in a pond and general ranch work.
5. A Quad: Would sure make checking fence line up and down the hills a lot better and faster. It would also help in getting aid to injured horses.
6. Tack of any kind: halters, lead ropes, saddles, bridles, medicines, a cart or wagon, harnesses, hoof equipment, fencing, T posts, don't forget grain, and most important HAY. If you want to donate hay but live far away, we can arrangements with our local feed store where you can order it by phone and we will pick it up.
7. Boots of all sizes for our kids: I used to have boots for all the kids but they went up in smoke also.
8. Native American Craft Supplies, for our crafts to sell: Hair bone beads, chevrons, leather laceing, senew, and anything else.
9. Gift Cards Of Anykind: Wal-mart up here has horse supplies.
10. ANYTHING else you have that we may or may not need. If the ranch can't use it we can sell it.
